Faith Legacy Series Family Ministry Grade 7- Everybody Wins and Nobody Kills Each Other

Purpose: This Workshop helps parents and their teens establish and strengthen an atmosphere of honor and respect in their home. Family Ministry Grade 7 is the first in our Faith Legacy Series for teens.

Discipleship Skill: Honor between parent and teen

Life Skill: Communication that results in mutual honor

Time Commitment: About a 2 ½ hour evening workshop

Legacy Point One –
Make the teen years great years by honoring each other

Create an atmosphere of honor

• Working Definition of Honor: Putting the interests of someone ahead of your own…
• Deposits and Withdrawals
• We honor each other because Christ honored us – Phil 2:3-8
• The difference between obedience, respect, and honor

Legacy Point Three –
When in conflict, honor each other

• Listen with honor
• Speak with honor
• Use “The Wise Appeal”
