Faith Legacy Series – Helping Families Grow Spiritually in the Home
Video Based Small Groups for Parents with Infants through High School
This video based material gathers parents of same age children and gives them insight into how they might nurture discipleship in age-appropriate ways. Preschool and Elementary age meet for three sessions without their children present. Preteens have a weekend retreat with their parents. Teens have a one night seminar with their parent. After each Faith Step, parents have opportunity to learn how to pray a blessing over their child and give them a gift remembering the discipleship skill discussed!
If all fourteen Faith Steps were implemented in a church, one or two Faith Steps would be happening each month. Most churches have the parents pray a blessing over their child in a public worship event. Faith Legacy is designed to change the culture of the church and this type of value placed on spiritual parenting impacts everyone.
Faith Steps have Blessing Objects that can be ordered inexpensively.
All videos and hand-outs can be downloaded, but if video tapes are needed for the sake of convenience they are available inexpensively.
Video Based Group Teaching for Grandparents.
Grandparents are in a position of great influence as they pass down their spiritual encouragement to children and grandchildren. This series of four videos culminates when grandparents make their own legacy video to pass to future generations.
Full Faith Legacy Scope and Sequence
- Birth through Age 8, each step consists of 3 video classes and a blessing event in each step. There is a step at Birth, Age 2, Age 4, Age 6, and Age 8.
- Grades 5 & 6, retreats are held for father/son and mother/daughter.
- Grade 7 through High School, parents and their children attend workshops to discuss age-appropriate topics. There is a step each year from Grade 7 through Grade 12.
- Grandparents, four sessions that culminate in recording their story and faith story for future generations.
